Tonight marks the end of many people’s freedom as Big Brother graces our screens for the final summer; it is the end of an era! Over the last 10 years we have seen more fights, frolics and frenemies then I could possibly remember (partly as I can barely remember any names of BB contestants!) However there are some classic BB moments that are worth a mention before discussing this year’s housemates!

My favourite BB was series 7 in 2006 with the wonderful tantrums of Nikki and her sweet relationship with Pete, the pathetic Aisleyne and her “know yourself” catchphrase and the mega bitch Grace’s classic water throwing moment! Nikki’s rants in the diary room are classics and definitely worth a look on YouTube!! Coming a close second of my favourite BBs was in 2004 with BB 5; who could forget bunny boiling Michelle and her “chicken” Stu, the secret task involving the bedsit, Emma and Michelle which eventually led to the biggest fight on BB of all time! The fight broke out between Victor and Emma and involved such violence that even the police got involved with widespread media coverage.

One thing that most BBs have is some form of romance which, whether real or for the cameras, ensures that audiences are hooked; everyone loves a happy ending. My favourite BB couple Pete and Nikki enjoyed a whirlwind holiday romance however only lasted a handful of months on the outside. Chanelle and Ziggy were probably BBs most pathetic couple; it was a fake, attention seeking relationship which included the cringe worthy break up line “it’s not you, it’s me” and their relationship plummeted as soon as they left the BB house; who knows or cares what either of those two are doing now! however out of all the BB romances there’s is one has resulted in a marriage that is still going strong today; Grace and Mikey from BB 7 who are the only BB happily ever after couple! So….with the past BBs happy TV memories what’s in store for 2011?

Here’s your line up as it happens…

The first housemate in is a girl called Josie; first impressions following her video was how funny her accent was! Apart from that she seems rather loud and ever so slightly mad!! Will she be the irritating noisy one this year?

The second housemate in is a rather large man named Steve; my first impression of him was that of respect as he was blown up by a roadside bomb while in the forces! He also has a quite scary appearance with his large frame and tattoo covered body…but can looks be deceiving?

The third housemate in is Ben who is posh and appears to be slightly camp…will he be this year’s half wit?

Housemate number four is the first female “hottie” Rachel; her video makes her come across as quite arrogant and self centred. Was this an act for attention or is just very shallow?

Joining the other five is the third man scouser Nathan who slightly resembles one of the oasis brothers! My first impression went straight to the eyebrow! And it blinded me into making any other opinion!

Next into the house is the giggling Dave who decided to go into the house dressed as friar tuck. In his video he spoke about Christianity and drinking a lot…a strange mixture me thinks!!

Following him is a lady called Caomhe who sounds and comes across quite a lot like Noireen…oh dear is all I can say!!

Number 8 in is Govan who can be described as slightly camp and smiley (although his penis comment was unnecessary!)…let’s hope he brings fun and festivities to the weird mish mash of BB contestants.

Next into the house of madness is Shabby who I think is a girl; but I’m not completely sure! She seems quite odd, posh and is gay! Could that be a winning or losing combination?

Contestant 10 is Ife who is a singer, dancer and all round fame whore! Could she get involved in bitchfests or be the topic of other bitching?

as per usual in the big brother contestants comes the resident male “hottie” John who’s a surfer from Aussie and believes he looks like David Beckham…will he be involved in this year’s summer romance?

The twelfth contestant is called Sunshine. Enough said.

Following Sunshine (gag) is Jordan lookalike Corin who is the colour of treacle and talks too much! I’m irritated already!

The final contestant picked at random by Davina is Mario who is wearing a veryyyyy strange suit jacket! Apart from that he is given a task to misbehave in the house as a mole for BB…

So with the contestants picked and the BB fun just beginning I ponder whether or not this will be the best Big Brother yet or if it will come to a pitiful end…WE decide!

Currently 50 cent is a haunting shadow of his former self as he has lost over 50 lbs (over 3 stone!) for a new film role. 50 cent has always been known for his big muscles and toned physique so he has become almost unrecognisable in recent weeks! The new film is called “Things Fall Apart” and is the film that 50 cent hopes will launch his career as a series actor; however the weight loss could all be for nothing if the film doesn’t go ahead. The synopsis of the film is about a college football star that gets cancer and the trials and tribulations as a result.

Hardly an advert for healthy weight loss but 50 cent achieved this through a turbulent 9 week liquid diet and by long 3 hour walks on a treadmill. liquid diets are often favoured by Celebs as they bring quick results; Beyonce once followed the Lemonade Diet for a month for her role in Dream Girls; the diet consisted of drinking a concoction of water, lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper as a replacement for two meals a day. Despite these diets having fast, effective results the health problems as a result of a fad diet definitely outweigh the weight loss! Although if I had the promise of a million dollar pay check I may find the determination to stick to an unhealthy liquid diet!

Now back on tour 50 cent has spoken out to assure his fans that he will be back to his former self when the film is over; let’s hope he can get a Big Mac down him soon….he definitely needs one!!

Finally Sex and the City Two hit the big screen, bringing with it a $7 million wardrobe budget and shoes that most of us will only ever dream of! Carrie’s walk in closest alone almost brought tears to my eyes; if the government want girls to stay in school don’t scare them with tales of teenage pregnancies…show them that closest as something they can achieve if they work hard, it’s all the motivation I would need!

I don’t want to ruin the film for those who have yet to see it but I will discuss some elements of the film; so if you don’t want to know anything STOP reading now!!

The film starts two years on from the first film; Carrie and Big (I refuse to call him John it doesn’t seem right!) changed apartments and are living in marital bliss, Charlotte and Harry have their two gorgeous girls with Rose, their youngest, going through a bad case of terrible twos, Miranda and Steve are also happy despite Miranda’s awful new boss and Samantha…well she’s exactly the same! Battling to stay youthful and having as much sex as she can!

The second film definitely feels more like the series; despite more glamour the girls seem more like their original characters which, in my opinion is one of the problems with Carrie. I know the series is about Carrie but towards series six I grew to dislike her attention seeking and indecision about Big. I know they were meant to be together and yet, to make the second film work, they both have near misses at cheating! Doesn’t seem like a way for a good relationship to work to me, but like Carrie said….people make their own relationships work. Samantha is the character I like the most despite her being the polar opposite to me! Samantha is promiscuous and enjoys sex whenever and with whomever….but she’s honest about who she is and is not making her more likable.

One of the biggest critiques of the film is that is wasn’t really set in the city…this critique obviously came from someone who wasn’t an avid SATC fan from the start! There are plenty of times throughout the six series that the girls leave; they go to LA, the Hamptons, Staten Island….yes they are based in New York but they are allowed to leave it!!! I enjoyed the fact the girls were together in a different place with the writers managing to create drama without causing devastating effects to the characters we have grown to love! I am also pleased that many of the storyline rumours I had heard were false…the final cut was a fabulous follow on and a perfect ending to SATC, I’m hoping that is the final film so the girls end on a high!

Samantha definitely stole the show this time around with her witty one liners and constant efforts to try and stay youthful; one minor error in the film is firstly Samantha’s arrest and also her hilarious rant at the men of Abu Dhabi about having sex! Despite this causing the entire cinema (all women bar 2 very devoted and uncomfortable boyfriends and one man sat by himself!) it was an extremely misrepresentation of the laws of that country! If that happened in real life the outcome for Sam would have been very different!

Charlotte also shone through as her character struggled to cope with motherhood; tears built as she locked herself into a cupboard to cry at how hard it was and a very moving and funny conversation between Miranda and Charlotte about mothers who can do it *shock horror* without a nanny!

Miranda’s likability also grew as her character became happier and glamorously dressed; in the early series I wasn’t a big fan of Miranda as she was cynical, not very into her fashion and sometimes a bit dull. But all that has changed over the years and she now comes across as a fashionable, successful women in love juggling a career and a family in her fabulous shoes!

To be honest it is only Carrie who has become less liked in my opinion, despite being beyond jealous about her shoes and fashion collection. Despite this, the much anticipated SATC 2 film hasn’t let me down; full of gorgeous fashion, fabulous shoes, Sex, love and friendship it was a winner in my eyes!

According to Europe that’s a no….or a “nil point” which refers to the abysmal score we received in Eurovision! We gained a pitiful 10 points losing to Germany’s 200 odd points (there’s a joke in there about 2 world wars and a world cup but I won’t go there!!) and, even though our contribution was pretty awful, compared to some (Armenia singing about Apricot stones for example!!) I think the critics were a bit too harsh! Britain also showed a distinct lack of talent on Saturday during a friendly pre world cup game against Japan….bad week all round for Britain really in proving if we actually do have talent!!

Following the shambles that was the Eurovision and the pathetic world cup game I settled down to watch Britain’s got Talent with less than high hopes. I have watched the auditions where possible and my faith in the talents of Britain’s is…questionable. On the one hand you have got the quality acts such as the adorable boy band Connected and the amazing gymnastics of Spellbound. Acts like these blew me away with their talent, skill and likeability. I also enjoyed some of the dance acts such as the hilarious Chipendoubles; but I’m in two minds about them as they may just be a one trick pony! Other acts I thoroughly enjoyed were The Arrangement from my wonderful hometown Cambridge which mocked modern songs in an operatic style which made for great viewing!  However with the good comes the bad…the hilarious return of the man who wanted to beat the world record for eating chocolate springs to mind!! Also the very random chopping wood man?! And the countless wanabee singers who were deluded enough to think they were any good at all! I am the first to admit I wasn’t blessed with a wonderful singing voice and I think that many of those singing acts need a harsh dose of reality (which they all received courtesy of Mr Cowell!).

So as the live Semi Finals kick off this week let’s hope true talent shines through and we can prove that, in actual fact, Britain does have talent!!

It has been a whirl wind of a few months and I have been utterly swamped with life… I have become a expert at juggling areas of my life such as Uni work and trying to find a job! Apparently, according to my lovely boyfriend,  I have also developed OCD when it comes to organisation as I have tried to make sense of life and what it can throw at you. Unfortunately that has meant my blog has taken a back seat; however fear not readers as i am back! With new posts about celebs, fashion and maybe a venture into lessons of love in a similar (but better ) style of the infamous Carrie Bradshaw.

I want to publish about 2 posts a week to keep the world updated on everything I  find important, interesting and have an opinion on in the world of fashion, celebrity and matters of the heart!

Well it’s been a longgggg month and apologies for lack of posts; its crazy how many things can change in just one month! I have unfortunately felt the bitter hand of recession and so have spent my days either doing university work or furiously hunting for a job…I need to fund the shoe addiction after all!! So; what’s been happening recently?

Well it seems Cheryl and Ashley are back on talking terms and she is considering taking him back if he’s on his best behaviour till august. Despite loving Cheryl Cole I am rather judgemental about this latest development. Firstly I’d like to discuss the Cheryl mania that has swept the nation… I acknowledge that Cheryl’s not the “perfect” woman everyone is making her out to be; it wasn’t that long ago she faced GBH charges!! Luckily she’s got a fabulous stylist now but I’m sure we can all remember the corn rows and velour style she has “rocked” in the past! But despite this, the nation has fallen in love with her and she has become our sweetheart. Why? Well apart from the fabulous clothes she wears (thank you stylist!!), her luscious “because I’m worth it” hair and to die for lashes she’s had to deal with real life and pain in the best way she can.

Marriage and relationship breakdowns are traumatic stressful times to anyone; but when you are constantly under scrutiny by press and public it makes everything that little bit more difficult. God knows why, but Ashley Cole cheated on Cheryl with a number a skanky girls. She forgave him but instead of seeing it as a fresh start, he committed more offences.  It’s one thing to give a partner a second chance to redeem himself; I’d like to think I had the strength to give someone a second chance if they wanted to change. But if they did it again that would have to be it. But Cheryl seems to be considering taking the love rat back. She wants to teach Ashley a lesson in humiliation but I think it is Cheryl who is going to end up humiliated again. The expression “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me” springs to my mind!!

So moving on from Cheryl is Kerry Katona…who is looking fabulously toned and a stark contrast from what she looked like this time last year. They say the break up diet is the best kind but in her case it should be bottled! She got rid of that scumbag man and has finally begun to turn her life around through embracing a healthy lifestyle and being a good mum to her children. She looks so much happier to be away from mark and with new management we could see the re-launch of brand Katona! But just to squash any rumours…Kerry and Peter Andre are NOT dating! Even though it would be the ULTIMATE revenge on Jordan (they famously fell out a few years ago and have been slating each other ever since!) Peter and Kerry are simple under the same management and acquaintances! Shame really; I’d love to see Jordan’s face!!

Speaking of Jordan, it appears her life is spiralling more and more downhill. After her whirlwind marriage to Alex Reid she’s been trying to get “reidernated”…aka pregnant. If Jordan didn’t have millions in her bank account I could see her on Jeremy Kyle. 3 children, 2 dads, 2nd husband and wanting a new baby…its perfect Kyle material!! Rumours have been circulating that Alex isn’t happy in their marriage as he’s constantly referred to as Pete or being compared to him. Jordan even called him Pete recently on This Morning! Alex has admitted he agrees with Pete; that he loves Katie Price but hates when Jordan takes over!

When Jordan first started dating Alex I wasn’t his biggest fan. I thought he was a bit stupid, too orange and wayyyy to muscley!! He may still be all these things but he’s a nice guy, a “lovable fool” and you can tell he genuinely loves Jordan. I feel sorry for him because he could end up as hurt as Pete. Jordan needs a man to stand up to her and tell her she’s acting like a slut…she’s in her thirties!! The phrase “mutton dressed as lamb” springs to mind! Start acting your age Jordan!! And realise you had a good man and lost him and now you’ve got another good man….do you want to lose him as well?!

It seems the world of celebrity is rife with problems, break ups and resentment! Let’s hope as the sun comes out, luck changes for us all! And we can enjoy a fun filled, happy summer!

Well as winter finally tries to leave and spring fights its way through the new fashions for summer are also being trying out and there are 3 trends that stand out to me; florals, nautical and nudes. As with the last few year’s florals become huge in spring as we fight off the winter blues and try to cheer ourselves up through our wardrobes. Florals can be done quite easily but it is ALL about the accessories. Find a simple floral print as a top or dress and then accessorise it to the max with a gorgeous pair of pumps, cardi and bag that pull out the colours of the florals. if you’re not brave enough to do floral on a large scale there are plenty of shops that are embracing the floral in small ways; a rose printed pair of shoes in Primark with a plain pink top and jeans could be one way of saluting the floral trend for those who don’t want to go the whole way. With florals accessories have to be basic so a nice floral dress needs only plain coloured pumps, a couple strings of pearls and you’re set to face the world!!

Nautical is another trend that I am LOVING as once again you can accessorise it to the max. In my view accessories are the key to an outfit; my room is full of pearls, beads, bracelets, bows….they turn an outfit from average to fabulous so with nautical go gold! Stack your arm with bangles and add some gold beads! Red can also make nautical more fun so add a red pair of pumps and a red cardi. I’ve seen many shops using the nautical trend with Debenhams selling a really cute blue and white playsuit which would look fabulous with a pair of wedges when the summer finally comes!

Nudes can be tricky and I’ve seen many women over tan to compensate for the colours they are wearing which is a definite no no. Nude colours can be embraced by any skin tone; the proof falls to celebs such as Cheryl Cole and fellow band mate Nicola Roberts. Both with very different skin tones and both pulled of the nudes look to perfection. To start with nothing is sexier at the moment than a pair of nude patent heels. They could be worn with some skinny jeans and a nice jumper or even a floral dress if you keep it simple. With nude tops time needs to be taken to match the right nude with your skin! If you have darker skin go for a pinkier nude whereas paler skinned women should go for a peachier nude so they don’t look washed out. With nudes they can look really edgy worn with black…throw on a black leather jacket and slick on a bit of kohl and you’re good to go!

So there are some little tips on three of the big trends for the spring/summer season. Remember to accessorise (but less is more!!) and to have fun with trends; they are there to be enjoyed!!

The world of footballers and their wives is often seen as glamorous; full of money, fashion, fast cars and fabulous parties. But the darker side seems to be the men’s incapability to commit fully to their wives. Unfortunately this darker side is not necessarily understood by young girls who aspire to be WAGs for the so called glamorous lifestyle!! What’s baffling to me is the calibre of the women these footballers choose to cheat of their wives with…their wives are all stunning talented women who most girls strive to look like and yet their own husbands do not see this and choose to sleep with or mess around with these slutty trampish girls that belong in the gutter!

In 2008 Ashley Cole was proved guilty of cheating on his beautiful wife with one such girl Aimee Walton. Cheryl shocked many people by sticking by her man and eventually forgiving him for his misdemeanour despite previously stating she would never forgive a man for cheating on her. It seemed that after a turbulent time Cheryl’s life was finally back on track; she had become the nation’s sweetheart and a loving husband…or so she thought. Despite forgiving her man he didn’t learn the lesson and the idiot was, yet again, accused of cheating with Sex texts and other infidelities over the recent months.

at first Cheryl was sticking by her man, listening to his pathetic excuses which included that the explicit pictures were a joke between friends….hmmm how many page 3 slut friends should footballers be allowed to have?!!? But it is obvious these pathetic lies have now been the last straw for Cheryl as today on her return from LA she issued a statement saying that she was splitting from Ashley and would appreciate some privacy during the difficult time. to be honest I think Ashley Cole may be the ONLY person in the world who isn’t a little bit in love with his wife and can see what she actually looks like….over 300,000 people on facebook joined a group named “Ashley Cole, are you stupid!!?? Have you seen how hot your wife is?!” and I think that’s all we can call him; an idiot. Who decided to follow his penis and not his heart.

I’m thankful that my Ashley’s not like that and actually knows how to treat a woman. Let’s hope men who act like this not only get their karmic justice but also (ASHLEY COLE PAY ATTENTION!!) learn from their mistakes!! so men; it’s quite simple…if you want to sleep around and not be married then do it…just don’t think you can have your cake and eat it too….you’re world will come tumbling down and you will get what you deserve…you’ll lose what’s probably the best thing to ever happen to you and you’ll probably get an STD from that bit of filth….so think before you do it! Cheryl’s well shot of that man and looking like that I’m sure she’ll be snapped up very soon by someone more gorgeous and who treats women correctly!!

Well, once again the world of celebrity is rife with scandal as more cheating men plea for forgiveness. It seems that celebrity men are incapable of staying faithful to one woman and are bad role models to young boys who may think it is “cool” to have a girlfriend and a bit of filth on the side. Faithfulness is something I feel very strongly about and I have a strong moral view of what constitutes cheating. It may seem unrealistic in this day and age but to me even flirting is cheating. Texts, emails…they all fall into the category of cheating as the intent is there and the trust is being broken. But unfortunately fidelity is not high on many men’s lists anymore. Or they just have warped idea of what fidelity is…and their infidelity is always with girls that are from the gutter. Fake, slutty girls probably riddled with STDs who hand themselves to men on a plate.

Cheating in the celebrity world has been going on forever; and in the world of football it almost seems a given. For some reason, slutty girls aspire to do kiss and tells with footballers, to break apart relationships and families without a second thought.  not that I am condoning this behaviour, but if men are handed it on a plate they are more than likely to take it….these girls, who are well aware of the footballers equally famous partners, should have more morals and respect for themselves. If these girls didn’t exist men wouldn’t cheat. Years ago there were rumours of David Beckham’s infidelity, and more recently Ashley Cole’s. These men had gorgeous wives and yet their eyes wandered to less attractive, sluttier pastures.

Even more recently was the scandal surrounding John Terry who had an affair with team mate Wayne Bridges girlfriend Vanessa Perroncel. There are also rumours that he’s cheated on his wife Toni numerous times and even paid for an abortion for Vanessa Perroncel when she fell pregnant during their 4 month fling. It has been said that Vanessa is desperate to be a WAG and has slept with several footballers with no thought to their partners. This leads to another problem that is emerging within the youth culture; the desire to be a WAG. What sort of ambition is it to be a wife of a footballer anyway? Girls should aspire to have good careers such as doctors and teachers, to be successful or even just to find happiness in life. Their biggest goal in life should not be to marry a footballer! You may have an attractive (in some cases) partner, plenty of money and fabulous clothes; but is it worth the public humiliation and heart break when a page 3 girl sleeps with your man? Personally I don’t think that any amount of money or shoes is worth that.

But it seems the world of football may away be rife with infidelity. The story that really disappointed me this week was that of Vernon Kaye and his sex texts to a number of (surprise surprise) page 3 girls. I actually felt let down by Vernon who had always portrayed himself as such a family man; openly talking about how much he loved his wife and family. To me this includes faithfulness. I don’t doubt that these men love their girlfriends and wives I just think they are stupid enough to let an appendage rule them for a brief moment.

Why would a man cheat on their girlfriend if she was Cheryl Cole or Tess Daly? I am baffled!!! I may not be as beautiful as them but at least my boyfriend promises fidelity and honesty; a promise I believe and hold dear.  But unfortunately not all men are as faithful and its becoming apparent that in the world of celebrity few men can be trusted. So my plea to men today is this…..

If you don’t want to be with your wife/girlfriend, don’t be. Just don’t expect to have your cake and eat it too…we always find out and you may lose the best thing that ever happened to you….so keep it in your friggin pants!!!

Rumours have been circulating for many weeks about the relationship troubles that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie which have now led to the end of one of THE celebrity couples. Their relationship sparked controversy to begin with as the off screen chemistry grew on the film set of Mr and Mrs Smith. Brad was still with Jennifer Aniston at the time and soon after their split was announced Brad began to date Ange. I even bought a team Aniston t-shirt as I was always a fan of hers and thought they seemed to be the perfect couple. And I stand by my opinion that Ms Jolie is too strange and alternative for someone like brad. Don’t forget it was Angelina who intimately kissed her brother at an Oscar show and had some very strange nuptials including vials of blood. Jolie also seemed to have a seven year itch as her previous relationships, one of which to Billy Bob Thorn, ended after 7 years. so Brad had two years before Jolie’s itch kicked in. there are a number of rumours as to why the couple split, some involving Angelina’s temper and jealousy when brad got in touch with ex wife Jen. However given the way Jolie seduced Pitt knowing he was a married man she hardly has a leg to stand on. I don’t believe in any religion however I am fairly spiritual and do believe in kismet and karma. I can’t help but wonder whether brad leaving Ange isn’t karmic retribution for the hurt the divorce caused Jennifer Aniston. Jen was left devastated following her split from bad and as a result has battled with her weight and a fairly unsuccessful love life.

One of the main concerns of the split of Brangelina is who will get custody of their children. They have 6 children in total; 3 are biologically theirs and three have been adopted. its lucky that Ange didn’t go ahead with another adoption which she recently voiced an interest in. it is also lucky that, with the amount of money the couple earn, they can hopefully both see the children regularly and make this as stress free as possible for them.

It may be a dream but in an ideal world Brad would grovel to Jen and they would eventually get back together and have lots of babies which would of course be beautiful!! I think Jen deserves to be happy and it would seem that brad is the only man to do that!!! Brad could always use the old classic “we were on a [5 year] break!!”
